Finding Your Roots

South Florida PBS (WPBT2 – WXEL) and Broward College invite you to examine the history of three legendary female reporters, on Finding Your Roots with Henry Lois Gates Jr.

Please join us on Thursday, April 4th at 6:30 PM at
Broward College’s South Campus Performing Cultural Arts Center
and delve deep into the roots of three Female journalists: Christiane Amanpour, Ann Curry, and Lisa Ling and the stories within their own family trees that are every bit as compelling as the news stories they have been covering for the world.

Also, come learn about FLORIDA FEMALE PIONEERS with some of our local ROOTS productions. Event is free and open to the public.

Study Abroad

The William E. Greene (WEG) Scholarship for Semester Study Abroad pays partial expenses (tuition, housing and most meals) for one student wishing to study abroad in the fall 2019 semester  in SpainPeru, Costa Rica or Ecuador

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher and have completed 12 college-level (1000/2000 level) credit hours at Broward College. Applicants must have also successfully completed ENC 1101. There are no residency requirements, and students do NOT need to be financial aid eligible in order to apply.

Applications for the Fall 2019 scholarship must be submitted to me, physically or via email by Wednesday, April 24, by 4:00pm.  Students can contact abroad@broward.edu should they have any questions!
