Seahawk Nation Welcomes TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)
TRIO offers FREE additional services tailored especially for students.
Some of those services are:
• Personalized tutors (in addition to the tutoring offered at the ASC and through tutor.com)
• Additional advising sessions with a Student Success Coach dedicated just for this program
• Enrichment workshops
• Cultural excursions
• Grant financial aid funding for those students in the program that qualify
To qualify, students only need to meet ONE of the following criteria:
• Be a low-income student
• Be a First-Generation college student (which means neither parent has a bachelor’s degree)
• Be a student in need of accessibility support (have a disability)

This month the lab is focused on the SPN GUIDED PRACTICE sessions which provide an opportunity for you to work closely with a tutor and other students (8 in total) to understand your SPN1120 language skills.

Seahawk Outreach Services 🆘 💞
This week’s drive-through food and essentials distribution will take place on
Thursday, February 11th from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. There are still spots available for students to sign up. Please encourage your students to sign up and take advantage of this program.
As a reminder, students can sign up by going to the Seahawk Outreach Services (SOS) webpage. Once there, they can click on the “Food & Essentials Distribution/Seahawk Marketplace” button and then click on the button to fill out the request. All CDC guidelines will be followed.

Broward College has partnered with Lyft for the new initiative Broward College Lyft Ride Program! This program is aimed at assisting students who are experiencing transportation challenges. Students can ride for free* as long as their ride either begins or ends at a Broward College campus or center.
Eligibility Criteria
·Student must be currently enrolled or have taken classes in the past two semesters
Eligible Ride Locations
Ride credits can only be used if the ride begins or ends at one of the following approved locations:
·North Campus ·Central Campus ·South Campus ·WHC/Downtown Center
Special Circumstances
·If a student would like to request a Broward College Lyft Ride to a location other than a Broward College campus or center, please encourage them to still complete the form and an S.O.S. staff member will contact the student to discuss the request and determine eligibility.
